Study Abroad

California State University, East Bay Continuing Education Study Abroad Programs provide students with an opportunity to explore other cultures and earn academic credit at the same time. Featured programs include those which award credit through Cal State East Bay as well as complimentary programs from other California State University schools.

Summer Studies In Paris

Stay in the Sait Germain de Pres in the Latin Quarter right in the heart of Paris and earn up to eight quarter units of credit in French by attending summer institute courses at all levels of language competency—from beginning to advanced—or two quarters of credit for a 1-hour course in Survival French.

Activities include a two-night stay in Saint Malo on the English Channel with side trips to Mont Saint Michel, the American Cemetery and Bayeux with its tapestry and medieval fair, a day excursion to impressionist artist Claudet Monet's house and gardens at Giverny and the city of Rouen, trips to Versailles and Fontainebleau, visits to the Louvre and the nineteenth century Musee d'Orsay and a choice of evening concerts, ballets, opera and theatre.

Lectures and guided walking tours covering French history and culture from the Cro Magnon man to the present day will be given in both French and English.

This program will run from July 1–30, 2007. Fees for the Institute Summer program include twin dorm room, breakfast, the above excursions and tuition for eight units of credit in French at Cal State East Bay: $3,200.

Fees do not include transportation to and from the program, although arrangements have been made to secure good rates through a partner travel agency. Please register early to take advantage of the best possible rates during high season.
