If you are a design engineer, electrical drafter or interested in working in power systems fields, this certificate provides you with the basic knowledge and current trends in the field.

Program Objectives

  • Provide a training on the fundamentals of 3 phase, balanced Alternating Current (AC), Power Systems, it's majors components and various aspects of their applications.
  • Enable students to design and analyze power relaying systems including transformers, transmission lines, rotating machines and computer control of power relaying systems
  • Provide a detailed design and analysis of high voltage power transmission systems including transmission lines and cables, poles and insulation systems. Also provide students with an understanding of AC and DC power transmission principles.
  • Plan, design and implement various elements of an electric power substation including transformers, switching, control equipment and to perform an environmental impact analysis.

Who Should Attend

  • If you want to build your power engineering skills and are a Design Engineer (new or current).
  • If you are interested in power systems and are an Electrical Engineer.
  • If you want to become a Design Engineer and are now a Design Drafter.
  • If you are simply interested in strengthening your skills in electrical power engineering systems.
