EKG Technician

Certificate Program

The California State University, East Bay EKG Technician Certificate Program provides aspiring EKG technicians the skills required to take on this critical role. The certificate also prepares students to take the national certification examinations sponsored by the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT) Electrocardiograph Technician Exam.

Students who take advantage of Cal State East Bay's comprehensive program will receive hands-on training that includes performing EKGs on fellow classmates, before which they will acquire a thorough grounding in the cardiovascular system, medical disease processes, electrocardiography, echocardiography, and other areas.

Taught by instructors with extensive EKG and cardiac medicine experience, the program is held at our Oakland facility, making classes easily accessible for those who live or work in San Francisco or the East Bay Area.
