Educational TherapyCertificate ProgramCalifornia State University, East Bay's Certificate in Educational Therapy is designed to provide a unique post-master’s opportunity for professionals in the field of education. This program will provide instructional and clinical experience to effectively address the needs of many of our struggling students. Graduates of the Educational Therapy Certificate program will be able to administer and interpret formal and informal assessments, deliver individualized instruction, and advocate for students with learning disabilities or significant learning issues. The program offers in-depth coursework in teaching diverse learners across all academic areas: reading skills, reading comprehension, written expression, mathematical calculation and reasoning, and study skills. Candidates will have the opportunity to work in a clinical setting, one-on-one with students, under direct supervision, in the areas of assessment, remediation, and individualized instruction. The program's courses fulfill the initial course requirements of the Association of Educational Therapy’s Associate Level membership. Service hours completed during the clinic practicum may count toward the required direct service hours by the Association of Educational Therapists (www.aetonline.org). Program Objectives
